Sidetracking Tools include Deflector and Window milling cone.

1. Deflector

The deflector also called as deviator, is a specialized tool which is used to lead milling tool to mill the one side of casing to form a window. JM deflectors are available in three types:

• Ordinary type deflector
• Double cylinder deflector
• Arc deflector

2. Window milling cone

when the deflector be in one site of casing and fixed, use the milling cone mills the oval window on the casing wall, side track mills the tools for the branch wall.

Window milling cone was combined by 3 parts: Open window section, Fix window section, Stabilized window section
